The Catalina Casino as seen from the main boat terminal. Built in 1929 the building is not really a casino but home to a dance floor, art and a movie theatre. Casino stands for social gathering in Italian and was the premise behind this pet project of William Wrigley in the 1920s to generate additional tourism to the island. The Nautilus, a semi submersible by Catalina Adventure Tours takes guests out to Lovers Cove where they can witness thousands of fish, the kelp forests and Catalina Island's geology.
