Journey Continent is leading the way as a digital media platform in the travel category. Geared towards the serious traveler-from budget to family to solo backpacker, Journey Continent prides itself on researching all the moving pieces to a destination to ensure the traveler is armed with the most up to date information. From hotels, sites/attractions to the various neighborhoods that make up a location, Journey Continent researches, visits and investigates every aspect so that the most discerning traveler can make informed decisions based on time, interests and budget.
Journey Continent is headquartered in Los Angeles, CA and is staffed by professionals who have traveled the world, worked in media, entertainment, advertising and the arts. Unlike other travel agencies and media platforms, Journey Continent specializes not on quantifying the world by mass coverage and little information and tips about each destination and point of interest, but rather by getting its hands wet and feet entrenched in the destinations it covers. Journey Continent talks to locals, spends days on the streets, and authors its own detailed maps and analysis on where to go and what to see.
The online travel guides produced by Journey Continent are broken in out into four key components. 1) Accommodations 2) Neighborhoods, 3) Sights and Attractions 4) Important Information.
Accommodations
Journey Continent's Accommodations section takes an in depth look at the hotel options of the locale being covered. Instead of covering every hotel within a 60 mile radius, JC takes a look at those accommodations nearest the major points of interest. The hotels are then segregated by hotel class and their locations in relation to sights, attractions and neighborhoods. Multiple photos are provided of the properties along with a detailed description of where in the neighborhood the hotel is located, points of interest it is nearest to and transportation options.
Neighborhoods
The research team at JC make sure they cover the neighborhoods up and down. Every locale has its own distinct areas that come with their own flavors, culture and feel. Journey Continent strives to find and present the personalities of each of these neighborhoods so that travelers can easily pinpoint what areas of the destination they would like the spend their most time in as well as identify an anchor point for their accommodations.
Sights/Attractions
One of the most exciting elements of travel is visiting landmarks and points of interest that mark a destinations location on the map. Often times a given city may have dozens of these, some outrageous tourist traps, others worthwhile of a visit. Journey Continent mines out the best of the best and gives extensive write ups on what to see, when to see it, its importance level and directions on how to locate it. In addition JC's hotel maps make identifying over night accommodations in relation to these locations easy.
Important Information
When traveling to a foreign location, Journey Continent recognizes that some information is more vital than where to stay, what to see and where to shop. JC understands the importance of presenting information on how to travel within the locale, what streets to take, travel times including peak rush hour times and off peak hours, what areas to avoid and what are the must see points of interest.
