
Pacific Wheel on the Santa Monica Pier can be seen from miles in either direction along the coast. The Ferris wheel traces its history back over 100 years.
Perhaps the most famous and notable attraction on the Santa Monica Pier is the Pacific Park. Located on the south facing side of the pier, Pacific Park is home to a variety of attractions that include a roller coaster, several thrill rides, game stalls, a historic Ferris wheel and food. Admission to Pacific Park is free, however there is a fee to board a ride. on a ride by ride basis. The prices for the rides are broken down as the following: Unlimited wristband for all day ride privileges 8 and over-$18.95. Unlimited wristband for all day ride privileges 7 and under-$13.95 There are also $99 annual passes that gives visitors unlimited admission to rides over course of a year.
Pacific Wheel
The Pacific Wheel is the iconic Ferris wheel that is as synonymous with the Santa Monica Pier as the ocean. Standing more than 130 feet above the pier, the Pacific Wheel is brand new having replaced the nearly 100 year old wheel before it. The Pacific Wheel consists of a variety of colors and by being powered by 160,000 LED lights, when lit up at night can be seen all the way to Malibu to the north and Venice Beach to the south. When riding the wheel, guests can take in the ocean breezes and the amazing views of all of Santa Monica , the beaches and Venice to the south. The wheel measures 85 feet and makes 2.5 revolutions per minute.
West Coaster
The West Coaster is the roller coaster of the Santa Monica Pier. Like the Pacific Wheel, the West Coaster with its bright yellow tracks can be seen throughout the beach areas of Santa Monica. Climbing to height of 55 feet above the pier, the roller coaster takes a small dip, several corkscrews and gives thrill to riders while traveling 35 MPH. Like the Pacific Wheel, the West Coaster gives riders 360 views of the pier, ocean and beaches.
Sea Dragon
The Sea Dragon is your typical swinging wooden ship type ride found at many amusement parks across the country. Painted in all green and made to have a dragon appearance, the Sea Dragon delights and excites as it takes riders back and forth in a 180 degree arc.
Inkies Pirate Ship
Inkies Pirate Ship is a unique ride in that it is a model pirate ship that pivots on a single track back and forth and physically turning giving riders views of the ocean, park and pier itself. Limited to 11 children and up to 8 adults the ride is a fun thrill that is easy going for everyone.
In addition to the above mentioned rides, there are a variety of rides for children that include Inkie’s airlift, the Crazy Submarine and Inkie’s Wave Jumper.
Stalls/Games
Pacific Park on the Pier offers a variety of gaming stalls allowing visitors to test their skills at variety of kiosks in such games as darts, basketball hoops, plates, bottles and more.
