When traveling down Sunset Blvd in the heart of Beverly Hills, you can't miss the famous Beverly Hills Hotel. Known as the "Pink Palace" , the property is bright and pink and stands out in a forest of palm trees and greenery. World renown, the Beverly Hills Hotel has played host to countless celebrities, presidents, dignitaries and high profile events.
Located on Sunset Blvd near the northern tip of Rodeo Drive, the Beverly Hills hotel exudes luxury and prestige. Built in 1912, the hotel has been the scene of countless celebrity get together's, weddings and events. Famous individuals from all eras have called the Beverly Hills Hotel home at some point. Elizabeth Taylor's father used to run an art gallery in the hotel lobby. During the 1950s Hugh Heffner resided in the hotel and at one point would reserve dozens of rooms for himself. The hotel has been featured in dozens of movies and tv shows. In addition, countless historical high profile weddings and events have taken place at the Beverly Hills Hotel. Every year there is the Night Before party that is held at the hotel which is on the evening before the big Academy Award Celebration. This event attracts the whose who of celebrities from Julia Roberts and Tom Cruise to Dustin Hoffman and Michael Douglas. The party is hosted by Jeffrey Katzenberg and also attracts a following of huge producers such as Stephen Spielberg.

Visitors entering the Beverly Hills Hotel off of Sunset Blvd will drive up a tight driveway that is lined on either side by lush greenery. Where the driveway arrives at the hotel entrance, a stucco awning hangs over and a red carpet begins leading visitors to the main lobby. Valet parking attendants dressed in polo shirts and khaki pants greet drivers as they arrive at the hotel.
The Beverly Hills hotel is situated in a very residential area of Beverly Hills. Ideal if you are looking to get a walk or run in, but not so convenient if you are looking to go shopping or sightseeing by foot. Shopping on Rodeo Drive is about a mile away. You will definitely need a car to visit West Hollywood and Hollywood which are about 2 and 4 miles respectively to the east along Sunset Blvd, Brentwood and Santa Monica are about 5 to 7 miles to the west respectively. The famous shops and dining of Rodeo Drive are only about a mile south of the hotel. Again do to its proximity to the residential area of Beverly Hills, it will be necessary to drive to access convenience stores and accessories.
