Where Sunset Blvd stretches through Hollywood, lined with palm trees, the CNN building, night clubs and action is the Comfort Inn Hollywood. This economy hotel is one of the smaller hotels in the area and is a block type structure. Located on Sunset Blvd the hotel is a 20 minute walk to the busy Hollywood and Highlands area of Hollywood. Just 2 miles to the west is the busy Sunset Strip. This area of Hollywood is one of the more colorful areas of the city and this particular hotel is somewhat segregated from the other tourist /family budget hotels in the Hollywood and Highlands area. This is one of two Comfort Inn's in the Hollywood area with the other being located near the Hollywood and Highlands (about 15 minute walk) on Highland Blvd.
If you are planning on spending most of your visits around sights on the Sunset Strip and Hollywood areas, this Comfort Inn is an ideal location. However visitors looking to head more west to the beaches will find a drive time of up to 45 minutes in rush hour traffic and about 30 minutes on off peak times. This area of Hollywood is not the best area to walk on foot during the evening, although the LAPD maintains a heavy presence in the area.
Visitors with a car and who are planning on staying in the Hollywood area will find this hotel ideal. Travel time to Beverly Hills can be up to 30 minutes with heavy traffic and to the beaches close to an hour. As this hotel is on Sunset, frequent bus service to those areas is very convenient as well. As previously stated, it is about a 15 minute walk from the Comfort Inn Hollywood to the Hollywood and Highlands Complex which is home to more tourist hotels and the departue point for sightseeing buses and trips to Universal Studios.
