Located where Wilshire Blvd terminates at Ocean Avenue and on over looking all of Santa Monica beach and the Pacific Ocean stands the Fairmont Miramar. Just a block away from the 3rd Street Promenade, steps from the beach and world class shopping and dining along Ocean Avenue, the Fairmont Miramar exemplifies everything that is luxury both in the services and atmosphere the hotel has to offer and its prime location on Ocean Avenue in Santa Monica.
If you plan on concentrating your stay in Santa Monica, the Fairmont Miramar is an excellent choice. It is convenient to everything there is to see in Santa Monica. It is right around the corner from the 3rd Street Promenade and within a 10 minute walk to the Santa Monica Pier and Montana Avenue. In addition, access to the beach is directly out the front doors and across the street via the California Incline. By car, Malibu is a convenient 15 minutes up the coast via the PCH (Pacific Coast Highway) which has easy access to the hotel.
The hotel is a high rise structure in appearance and many of the rooms on the west face enjoy spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean, the Santa Monica shoreline and out to Malibu. Those rooms that face on the east are treated to views of Los Angeles, The Getty Center, Brentwood and on some days even the Hollywood sign. Each room has its own private balcony in which to step out on and enjoy the scenery more, or to allow the cool breeze from the Pacific to flow in at night.
The hotel is home to a swimming pool, several meeting rooms and the famous Exhale spa. The hotel has a long history of playing host to some of the biggest names in entertainment and politics including Carey Grant, Gretta Garbo and John F. Kennedy. The luxurious single and bi level bungalow suites offer private wine selections, deluxe marble bathrooms and private terraces with views of the Pacific. There is also an extensive fitness center and gym on the property.
If you are planning on seeing other sights in LA such as Beverly Hills, Hollywood and West Hollywood, you will need a car. Be advised travel times on weekdays and rush hours to these locations can be up to an hour. On weekends and off peak times such as the evening it is 25 minutes or less.
