The Georgian Hotel is one of the oldest and charming properties in all of Los Angeles. Opened in 1933, the Georgian was a retreat for major movie stars and celebrities of the time from all over the world. Located on the heart of Ocean Blvd with fine dining and shopping on either side, today the hotel has an elegant feel both on the inside and out, is strategically located and has rooms that afford beautiful views of the Pacific Ocean and Malibu.
When stepping out of the hotel lobby, whether you make a right or left you will be immersed in all the exciting dining options that Ocean Avenue has to offer, from sushi and seafood to American Grill. Just one block east lies the Third Street Promenade where you can enjoy a diversity of world class shopping. Just off of Ocean Avenue runs an onramp (The California Incline) on to the PCH where you make a quick trip to Malibu or swing on to the 10 freeway where you can connect to Hollywood, Downtown or LAX. This same onramp has an expansive sidewalk that will allow you to walk or take a bike down on to the beach and the biking paths as well. In addition, the three main roads that transverse LA, Wilshire, Santa Monica and Pico are all walking (or very quick drive) to the Georgian and all intersect Ocean Avenue.
If your visit requires extensive travel to Beverly HIlls/Hollywood/Downtown or the San Fernando Valley during peak rush hour times, please note travel from this location in Santa Monica can be up to an hour long. On off hours and weekends it is only a quick 20 minutes. There are no basic convenience stores located within walking distance of the Georgian, so a car or bus ride will be needed to access these types of locations.
