By exiting the hotel on foot and making a right you will find yourself only a 5 minute walk to the heart of Hollywood. From here you can enjoy the Walk of Fame, board hourly tour buses to see the sights of LA, Beverly Hills and celebrity homes, , hop the subway for direct service to Universal City or Downtown, and, or enjoy the numerous shopping and dining opportunities in the Hollywood and Highlands Complex. In addition, the Kodak theatre and Mann's Grauman's Chinese Theatre is located in this complex as well.
The hotel is located on Highland Avenue which is an extremely busy stretch through the Hollywood area. At all hours of the day this area of Highland is heavy traffic but yet exudes the fun and ambiance of LA. This area of Hollywood is extremely safe and clean. This area of Highland is home to several other hotel properties as well including the Hollywood Heights Hotel, Comfort Inn on Highland and Best Western Hollywood Plaza.
The Holiday Inn Express is a tall structure with many of the rooms facing north and to the east towards the Hollywood sign. The property was built in 2008 and retains a brand new feel and lobby.
If you plan on seeing the sights on your own beyond the Hollywood area, you will need a car when staying at this hotel. Both Beverly Hills and West Hollywood are convenient drives, under 20 minutes. In addition entrance to the 101 is right around the corner where you can get to Universal Studios and Downtown LA in under 10 minutes. However if you are planning a trip to the westside to the beaches, Venice, Santa Monica or Brentwood, the trip west came take up to 45 minutes on peak rush hour times.
