Located a block east inland of Ocean Avenue and at the very northern tip of the Third Street Promenade, the The Hunley Hotel is a high rise hotel containing 209 rooms with an east coast architectural feel in the heart of Santa Monica. No matter what room you get, you are going to be in for some spectacular views. The north face of the hotel faces the coast line blending into the Santa Monica Mountains and Malibu. The west face looks directly out onto the Pacific Ocean. The south face has views of the coast going south into Malibu and the east face has a panoramic view of all of Santa Monica, Brentwood and all of greater Los Angeles beyond.
The hotel is easy walking distance to the beach, the dining and shopping of Ocean Avenue and the Third Street Promenade. In addition the on ramp to the PCH is a block to the west where from there you can get easy access to Malibu and the Pacific Palisades areas. In addition the same onramp will take you south on the PCH where you can access the 10 freeway to downtown, Hollywood and LAX. If you have travel plans that will take you to other parts of Los Angeles such as Beverly Hills, the San Fernando Valley or Hollywood, note traffic at peak times can make travel to these areas from Shutters up to an hour. On weekends and off peak times it is only 20 minutes at the most.
At the very top of The Huntley Hotel, 18 stories up lies The Penthouse, a restaurant/bar.. You can access this level by taking a glass elevator from the lobby area. It is a fun ride to the top as you ascend to the top you get 360 views of all of Santa Monica, the ocean and greater Los Angeles. Upon arriving at the top and the doors open you immediately step into The Penthouse. The Penthouse offers a variety of dining options from breakfast, lunch to dinner and comes to life in the evening as locals, visitors and executives meet for cocktails as the sun sets in the ocean outside the panoramic view the windows provide.
