Self described as "not a boutique hotel, and not a luxury residence, the Palihouse is a combination of both", the Palihouse is located in the heart of West Hollywood along the Santa Monica Blvd stretch that runs through West Hollywood's famed Gay and Lesbian district. The hotel just completed a full remodel and includes hallways and a lobby that is a very trendy and LA feel.
The Palihouse is unique in that it offers two kinds of accommodations. A) The traditional kind with standard hotel room and B) a more apartment feel where there is a separate bedroom and or a full loft layout. Most travelers have found either option to be comfortable and fun. Travelers who find themselves staying in the Los Angeles area for several weeks on end may want to look into the apartment/loft feel layout. The hotel does indicate that the majority of its guests tend to stay for a week or longer.
The hotel also boasts a rooftop bar/lounge area that is ofen home to some of the hottest parties and events in West Hollywood. Views on the roof give visitors amazing views of the "Hollywood Hills" and Santa Monica Blvd below.
As far as location goes if you are looking to spend a lot of your time along the busy Santa Monica Blvd, there is only one
other hotel, the Ramada that allows travelers to make their stay on this fun, hip part of West Hollywood. By heading west away from the Pali House along Santa Monica Blvd, you will encounter everything that is fun and Gay of West Hollywood. From boutique shops, gyms and cafes, you'll notice the laid back yet diverse feel that West Hollywood has to offer. About a half mile from the Palihouse you will end up at the intersection of Robertson and Santa Monica Blvds where the hub of the West Hollywood LGBT gay social scene resides. The Sunset Strip is also a quick walking distance up Holloway.
The Palihouse is also convenient walking distance to La Cienega Blvd where there is a huge selection of restaurants as well as additional shopping opportunities.
