All of Marina Del Rey is easy walking distance from the Ritz Carlton. Venice Beach and the Ocean Front walk (where there is an array of shopping and dining options) are another ten minutes walk or less than 5 minute drive by car. All around the hotel are numerous dining and lounge opportunities. As for shopping the nearest shopping point is Venice Beach and the nearest high end shopping is Santa Monica. If you are planning on making the most of your stay in the Marina Del Rey, Venice or Santa Monica area, the Ritz Carlton Del Rey is a good choice, however if you are planning on visiting Beverly Hills, Hollywood or West Hollywood, drive times to those areas can be up to an hour in peak traffic times and 30 minutes or less in off peak times (evenings and weekends). LAX is very conveniently located nearby.
