Although in the city of Los Angeles, and not in the city of Beverly Hills as its title suggests, the SLS Beverly Hills still retains a luxurious feel and ambiance at its La Cienega Blvd location on the far eastern perimeter of Beverly Hills. The Hotel, a Starwood property (owner of the W Hotel Brand) is not easy to miss as it stands in a sprawling manner extending from the south to the north on the west side of La Cienega. The SLS Beverly Hills is located conveniently within walking distance of the Beverly Center and about a mile from the heart of West Hollywood.
The SLS Beverly Hills is one of the bigger hotel properties in Los Angeles. The hotel has a large lobby, many meeting rooms and several ballrooms. The hotel creates a unique presentation by hanging several pieces of expensive art throughout the lobby. In addition pieces of high end art are also placed in several of the rooms. Some of the rooms at this property afford spectacular views of the West Hollywood and Hollywood areas and on most days the Hollywood sign and downtown LA are easily visible from the rooms facing the east side. The hotel aggressively markets itself to the business traveler and many of the rooms are equipped with state of the art work centers.
By walking out the front of the hotel and on to La Cienega, you will have easy access to some of the top of the line shopping in the world. The Beverly Center is only minutes away as well as Robertson Blvd. In addition this area of Los Angeles has a high concentration of upscale and unique dining choices that will fulfill any travelers taste. If you plan on venturing out of this area of Los Angeles, you will need a car. Although the hotel markets itself as being in the heart of Beverly Hills, the reality is you will need a car in order to get to Rodeo Drive. The hotel is closer to the areas of Hollywood and West Hollywood so if your travels take you to the beaches and the westside communities of Brentwood, Bel Air, Westwood or Santa Monica/Venice, you will need a car. Traffic at peak times to these areas can lead to a commute of 45 minutes or more, but is less than 20 minutes on weekends and evenings.
The SLS Beverly Hills is ideal for those traveling on business and who plan on staying within the West Hollywood and Beverly Hills areas of Los Angeles. The SLS is also near LA's Miracle Mile District which is located in the area of Wilshire Blvd east of La Cienega and includes museum row and several high rise office buildings.
