The Holiday Inn-Santa Monica lies strategically at the crossroads between the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier, Ocean Avenue and the Third Street Promenade. A perfect venue for families or those on a semi-budget (the hotel is still located on the beach and therefore won't be significantly less than the others that line Ocean) the hotel allows those that are staying and exploring the Santa Monica area a place to leave the car and set out on foot. Immediately outside the front doors of the hotel and across Ocean Avenue is the entrance to the Santa Monica Pier. The hotel is situated at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Colorado Blvd allowing you access to walk up and down Ocean Avenue as well, where there are variety of high class dining options such as Ivy at the Shore, Rebecca's, Sushi Rocu and Boa Steakhouse to name a few. When stepping out of the hotel by making an immediate right you will see 2nd street which in itself is full further dining and shopping options and also is a lead in to the Third Street Promenade.
The rooms of the Holiday Inn are situated in a north-south direction. No matter what room you get you will be guaranteed a view of the Pacific Ocean as well as either a view of all of Santa Monica looking south into Venice Beach or all of Santa Monica looking north into the Pacific Palisades and Malibu areas. There is a small dining area in the hotel, however due to its close location to a variety of other hotels and restaurants, the dining options are limitless within this area of Santa Monica.
Visitors looking to keep their travels to the Santa Monica and Venice area will find the Holiday Inn Santa Monica to be an ideal accommodation. However those travelers looking to see Beverly Hills and Hollywood will find that if they travel during peak rush hour (after 430pm) travel times can easily exceed up to an hour. On weekend and evenings the drive from this location to those areas is never more than 20 minutes.
