The Hotel Angeleno is located right off the 405 at Sunset Blvd. A famous landmark structure in its own right, the hotel has changed management hands many times over the years. Now considered one of the finest accommodations in Los Angeles, the Hotel Angeleno has easy access to all of the attractions and business centers of LA. The hotel is located at the gateway entrance to both Brentwood and Bel Air. About 4 miles to the beach, the hotel is most convenient to those sights of the westside such as Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, Malibu and Venice. By being on the 405, the hotel also enjoys easy access to the San Fernando Valley. The closest areas are both Brentwood and Bel Air. The hotel is not pedestrian friendly and you will find that you will need to drive to get basic amenities such as bottled water. You may recognize the exterior of the hotel as it has been featured in many tv shows and movies over the years.
The rooms at the hotel are all of comfortable size and offer a small balcony to step out. Depending on what side of the cylinder shaped building your room is in, depends on what view you will get. Some rooms stare straight up into the Getty Center, others have a view of a condominium complex, while others stare straight down into LA's famous and very busy 405 freeway. There are a total of 209 rooms spread over 18 floors. Each room has a small balcony allowing guests to step out and enjoy the fresh ocean air that makes only a 3 mile journey from the beach.
Upon exiting the hotels parking lot and proceeding to Sunset Blvd, by making a right you will be taken straight into the Brentwood area of the Los Angeles. At the intersection of Barrington and Sunset you will find the Brentwood Village, loaded with quaint coffee shops, bakeries and boutique high end shopping. By making a left on to Sunset you will be taken directly into Bel Air and Beverly Hills.
At the penthouse level is West-offering Cal Italian cuisine. It is from this level that you can get a 360 view of the greater Los Angeles area from the Getty Center, the greenery of Brentwood and the 405 heading south into LAX.
If you plan on spending most of your time on the westside near Brentwood, Bel Air or Beverly Hills and the Getty Center, the Hotel Angeleno is the way to go. However be advised on weekday afternoon rush hour the drive from this area of Los Angeles to West Hollywood and Hollywood as well as the San Fernando Valley can be up to an hour.
