The Renaissance Hotel is located in the center of Hollywood adjacent to the Kodak theatre, and in the Hollywood and Highlands complex. With over 632 suites the hotel is huge in size. From shopping and dining to getting tickets to a taping of your favorite tv show to boarding a tour bus to see all of LA, it all starts right here. It is at the doorstep of the Renaissance Hotel that regualar tour buses depart taking visitors on tours of celebrity homes in Beverly Hills, historical Hollywood mansions as well as trips to some of LA's biggest sights and atractoins. Across the street is the El Capitan theatre as well as the Roosevelt Hotel. Regular tour buses also depart this location for Universal Studios and LA's subway also offers nonstop service to Universal Studios and to Downtown Los Angeles from this location.
The area of Hollywood that the Renaissance Hotel is located is in the heart of all the main activities and sights. Aside from the Roosevelt Hotel, the other hotels in the area, although clean, safe and very modern area all at least a five minute walk to this location whereas the Renaissance is at ground zero. Hollywood Blvd in front of the hotel is very busy with traffic, crowds and especially comes alive during movie premiers and the Oscars held at the Kodak Theatre (at the base of the Renaissance Hotel).
If you are planning on spending a lot of your time in the Hollywood area, the Renaissance is a good choice. With easy walking access to all of the sights in Hollywood, including the tour guide buses that leave out front on Hollywood Blvd, the property is very convenient. In addition, there is easy walking access to basic convenience stores. If your travels take you to a more westerly direction such as Beverly Hills, Brentwood and Santa Monica, you will need a car. Be advised during peak rush hour times, travel to these areas from this part of Hollywood can run up to an hour. On off peak times and weekends, it is only up to 20 minutes. If your travels take you into the San Fernando Valley, there is now a metro like, LA's new underground subway that leaves out of the Hollywood and Highlands complex for the Studio City area of LA that is home to Universal Studios.
