Day Trips From LA: Catalina Island
Start morning at Hollywood and Highlands, walk the Walk of Fame, for an hour.
Drive west on Sunset Blvd, stop at at Mel's Diner for breakfast. Proceed into Beverly Hills on Sunset. Stop at the Polo Lounge at the Beverly Hills hotel for a glass of wine or tea. Proceed to Rodeo Drive, make, left off of Sunset. Walk Rodeo. Take Santa Monica Blvd west to Century City, make left into Century City mall. Enjoy lunch at Pink Taco, Houston's or food court. Follow Avenue of Stars to PIco, make right, and get quick glimpse of 20th Century Fox Studios. Follow Pico all the way to the beach. Park car, walk Ocean Avenue, walk down to beach, and get quick stroll of 3rd Street Promenade. Follow Ocean Avenue to San Vicente and into Brentwood for dinner at one of the many Italian restaurants along San Vicente.

Day 2-Take tour bus of Sunset Strip, Beverly Hills and West Hollywood. Then Drive on own around Rodeo Drive and then follow Wilshire Blvd west to the beach and enjoy dinner in Santa Monica along the 3rd Street Promenade or Ocean Ave. If time permits, head down to Venice Beach for a quick stroll.
