SANTA MONICA HOTELS

The Santa Monica and Venice areas are some of the more beautiful areas of Los Angeles to make a stay. The beaches and ocean make for several sights and attrations and the weather in this area is always a little cooler than the other parts of LA. The hotels in Santa Monica and Venice for the most part line the beaches. Ocean Avenue runs along the beach in Santa Monica and it is here visitors will find many hotels on Ocean Ave to chose. All hotels on Ocean Ave. afford visitors views of the ocean and have easy access to Malibu. Palisades Park is directly across the street from many of the hotels on this stretch. Hotels on the east side of Ocean Ave are the Fairmont Miramar,Georgian, Shangri LA, Holiday Inn, Travel Lodge, Vice Roy and the Ocean View. All these hotels are also less than a five minute walk from the Third Street Promenade. The Huntley hotel is just a block inland on 2nd street and located behind the Fairmont Miramar.

There are a few hotels that are east of the beaches of Santa Monica there visitors staying at will need a car. However frequent bus service serves the routes of these properties and can take visitors into Santa Monica or other parts of LA. These hotels are on Santa Monica Blvd and include the Best Western, Comfort Inn, Days Inn and the Travelodge and Sheraton on Pico.

The Hotels located on the beach and on the west side of Ocean Avenue have direct access to the beach and the Santa Monica bike path where visitors can walk, skate or bike to Venice, the Santa Monica Pier or up to the Pacific Palisades. These hotels are the Casa Del Mar, Shutters, Loews, Le Merigot, and the Hotel California.

South of Santa Monica is Venice. Venice does not offer the number of hotels beach side as Santa Monica. The Erwin Hotel is located right on Ocean Front walk and has a rooftop vista where guests can enjoy the crowds walking below. The Inn at Venice is on Washington Blvd and is less than a 3 minute walk from the first inlet onto Ocean Front Walk and Venice Beach. There are several discount hotels further east by about a mile and inlcude the Ramada Inn and Holiday Inn Express.

Just south of Venice is the Marina Del Rey region. This area is an inlet water way that is home to hundreds of private yachts and boats. There are a few budget hotels to be found in this area(Marina Int'l Hotel, Marina Del Rey Hotel) along with the 5 star Ritz Carlton and 4 star Marriott. All hotels in this area area are about a ten minute walk to Venice Beach and Ocean Front walk.
